Hurricane Idalia Bulletin

CDIP stations measured historically large waves generated by Hurricane Idalia as it approached the Gulf coast of Florida earlier this week, peaking at ~9 m (30 ft) significant wave height off St Petersburg.  Storm waves exceeding 4 m significant wave height were measured at stations along the North Carolina coast as the system moved out over the Atlantic.  Credit to our station partners in the region, including CORMP at UNC-Wilmington, USF/Tampa Bay PORTS, CSI/ECU, SECOORA, US Navy, and NREL.
