New PacIOOS station

New PacIOOS station

PacIOOS installed a new wave buoy in Utwe, Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia. Moored approximately 1.2 miles (2 km) offshore of Foko Mosral (Mosral Point), the southernmost point in the Malem municipality on the island of Kosrae, this buoy measures wave direction and energy, as well as surface currents, sea surface temperature, and air temperature. Key PacIOOS partners include the Kosrae Division of Fisheries and Marine Resources, the Kosrae Disaster Coordinating Officer, and to Deleon Likiak, who designed and painted the buoy art!
