A new station, CDIP 273 King-Paloa, was recently established by PacIOOS to measure waves approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) northwest of Legaotaema Point and Cape Taputapu offshore of Poloa Bay and Poloa Village Marine Protected Area at the western end of Tutuila Island in American Samoa. CDIP 189 Aunuu was redeployed June 14 following an offsite. This station is a collaboration with PacIOOS, Skipper and Crew of the Manu'atele ferry, the National Park of American Samoa, NOAA Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa, Pago Pago harbor employees and local fishermen.
